OUR STORY

Local siblings, Ian and Lee Herchenroder have over 20 years of history in the cycling industry.

Ian (they/them) is a professional mountain bike rider, focusing on cross-country, Enduro, and downhill disciplines.  They started racing 25 years ago and are a pro-level mechanic, suspension tuner, community builder, coach, and mentor.

Lee (he/him) is a world-class mountain bike trail builder, racer/race promoter, local cycling advocate, and founding member of the Round Top Mountain Bike Association in Greene County.

Lee and Ian have designed and built trails for the UCI World Cup events at Windham Mountain, and elsewhere.

OUR MISSION

Save the planet and have fun!

Community: The bike shop is a place for community! We host rides, events, and collaborate with other village businesses to create a fun and welcoming space for adventurers.

Inclusivity: We’re all cyclists whether we ride one weekend a year during a holiday or ride everyday. All bodies are good bodies and all bodies belong on bikes. We carry a wide range of products for all of our customer’s needs.

Being of Service: We are here to serve our community. We are willing to do what it takes to make something happen for someone. We want to offer something that the community needs and we are listening.

Land Stewardship: We recognize and value that our business and rides on Mahican land. One of the ways we act on this is we carry in what we carry out. We also make business decisions that are aligned with environmental responsibility. We use biodegradable cleaners/lubes. We prioritize products that reduce the supply chain, use minimal packaging, and are reusable/recyclable.

Open and Honest Communication: We value honesty and clear communication with our customers, our vendors, and each other. We provide authentic and reliable advice. We are experienced members of the local cycling community and are happy to answer any questions that you may have.

The future

We’re passionate about bicycles. We believe that bikes offer a simple solution to many of our communities’ complex problems. Bikes are great for your personal health and for the health of our environment. Bikes can help you save money on transportation, and bikes can provide you with endless miles of fun with your family and friends.
